Working with you, not at you
About John Mortimer
John has been involved in transforming organisations of over 22 years. He started in engineering, and after obtaining an MBA, spent formative years with Hilton International, then in ABB, the engineering multinational. With ABB, the complexity of the reality of efficient and effective operations became all too clear. John become exposed to national and international management and change projects, in a rapidly changing business environment.
John then worked with Vanguard Consulting, where the methodologies of transformation and change were learned. Especially being able to understand an organisation as a system of interrelated parts, using systems thinking. Working with a multitude of different organisations, with very good consultants, gave John the experience to assess and lead effective change himself.
Lean, as originated in the Toyota Production System, Senge, Argyris, and Deming ideas provide robust tools to understand organisations, and to deliver change. Systems thinking, and systemic design. When confronted with barriers to change, John is able to develop flexible approaches to the challenges that real organisations face, following Corporate Rebels examples.
In the public sector, John has more recently focused on integrating services, creating collaborative hubs, people and community centred approaches.

"We have always been wary of consultants. John, however, really helps us to understand our situation, and works with us to make lasting and sustained change."
22 years of helping the private and public sector to improve using design thinking, Lean, systems thinking, the liberated method, the Vanguard Method, and Human Learning Systems
